I am a professional musical theatre performer and director based in Kansas City and I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in December 2018 from Kansas State University. I am currently teaching theatre at Providence School of Arts and I have been teaching private lessons since 2017. I have previously music directed and choreographed for both Stage Right Performing Arts and Christian Youth Theatre Kansas City and looks forward to teaching and growing the rising stars of musical theatre in Kansas City. I am a native of Russia. In 2001 I moved to the United States. In 2005 I became a US citizen. I studied music for seven years to earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in vocals and piano. I studied six more years in conservatory to obtain my Masters degrees in music performance and education. I love to teach and to see my students progress in their musical studies. The method book I begin younger students on is Piano Adventures by Faber and Faber. There are 5 Level books to complete. We use the lesson book, as well as the technique book. I also supplement with solo repertoire and various materials. For the older beginner, I use Alfred's Basic Adult All-In-One Course, as well as supplemental solo repertoire. Music theory is essential in my studio, and I use various learning tools to teach theory. iPad apps, worksheets, games and manipulatives are a few examples. Read More
