I have taught with organizations such as 4/4 School of Music, Illumination Learning Studio, TakeLessons.com, Treehouse, and Music & Arts (where I led a string workshop in 2018). For my Master's thesis, I conducted a research study on improving minority representation in classical music education, which was published via Medium. I continue to evaluate music-related independent studies for Antioch University students, writing narrative evaluations to be included on their transcripts. In addition to my career, I currently serves as a Case Manager for the Youth Re-Engagement Program at Everett Community College, where I help young adults navigate the paths to their own dream careers. I am an active, professional composer of opera, choral music, wind and orchestral music, chamber music, art song, film music, and dance music. I teach music to all ages, and my style varies depending on the age of the students. With young students, I may give them a little theory but more so focus on what music they like may like and want to learn. I find playing along with CDs work for some students as long they have fun. For the adults I bring it to a different level but again using similar methods, for example learning minor or major scales on guitar or piano, timing is also what I focus on as well. Read More
