Piano students: I usually use the Piano Adventures method, as I find it very methodical and balanced. In each class we do exercises to improve technique, sightreading, and performance along with music theory exercises. In a second part of the lesson we work on the songs having as main goal the creation of a repertoire that the student can play later to family and friends. For beginner students who are children, I tend to lean into the music that they are more fond of listening to and develop an atmosphere of interest while using various colors, singing methods, rhymes that will grasp their attention and in the long run develop their ear. For young adults and up, I develop my lesson plans accordingly depending on their level of musicianship. Read More
