When I think about a student learning wintry to put myself in there shoes. They want to feel like they have something to show for the time that they were the class session. . if we have an hour session and at the end of the session they can go out and show off what they learned then they will. I began teaching my first piano student when I was 14 years old. I have since enjoyed teaching in many different ways. I've taught private students, homeschool choruses, pre-K-8th grade (using music curriculum that I created), 8th grade science students, large choirs of beautiful angelic children's voices, adult church choirs, youth and adult bands, gospel choirs, reading literacy students,and soldier medicshow to prepare for their responsibilities. I have a year of teaching Chorus in the Guilford public school system. I also have musical theater experience. I have also been singing in church my whole life and have held an interim minister of music position at East Belmont Church of God. If the student has already taken lessons or is in their school band/orchestra, I encourage moving onto the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced method books depending on ability. Once a student has proven that they are able to handle it, I will start on solo repertoire. In 2010, I graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sacred Music. During my time at PC, I sang and accompanied the Presbyterian College Choir, Cantare!
