I am a super passionate and motivated music educator who loves working with students all ages. I graduated from Albright College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Industry Studies. My major encompasses all aspects of the music industry including business, entertainment law, education, songwriting, and music theory. I have performed on campus as well as in the Burlington, NJ area as a busker. Generally, I sit down with the student and we set a goal. From there I can break down this goal into little Milestones and from there, the material for each lesson springs forth. Some of it may be from books, some may be a customized adaptation of a song they want to learn made for their specific level. My experience in teaching started when I was in undergraduate school fullfilling my vocal pedagogy requirements and was instantly drawn to it. I have always been selected to be the section leader in choir or the vocal coach in my casts and it has allowed me to better understand how we learn as musicians and Ive taken that with me into my own private studio. The next step would then be developing and strengthening the singers vocal range and repertoire. My approach to singing comes from yoga. I begin every single lesson with about 2-5 minutes of breathing exercises that stem from yoga practices. As humans, the first thing that we do before we make any kind of a sound is breathe. I believe that understanding your own breathing mechanism will give you your most honest, authentic, healthy, and full sound. Every one of my students will be able to explain, what I call, "the pillars of breathing" and how it relates to vocal technique. Read More
