I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am currently pursuing my degree in music education with a concentration in voice at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. My instruments include classical voice, which I have been studying for 6 years, and classical piano, which I have been studying for 10 plus years. I've also had the opportunity to perform in various concert halls and ensembles around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Beijing Watercube Olympic Stadium, and many churches throughout Germany, which has contributed to my experiences as both a performer and as an educator. My students are encouraged to enter competitions, recitals, and college auditions, as well as composing their own material. I believe in encouragement and positive reinforcement, I will never discourage a student to study music. Music is for everyone and should never be considered out of reach for anyone. For a beginning student on guitar, I have them learning notes from a Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, or Alfred starter book. All these books are great, but I believe it depends on the individual student and how they learn. I also teach tab to beginners. I feel it is important to read tabs these days as well as notes. I also work with music theory. It is also important to know what you are doing, not just putting your fingers on the strings. Read More
