When will I start to see results?
Within the first week or teo.
Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
Yes. My violin professor. My mother, who was my piano teacher. My father who taught me how to sing. My Choir and drama teacher at highschool.
If you play more than one instrument, how did you decide to start playing the second? (Or 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc)!
As a child, my parents encouraged music learning to enrich our lives. It has stayed with me. I started with paint and then strings were incorporated in. Vocals were a part of our worship experience at church and I started singing silo and duets at the age of 12 or 13.
Does music run in your family? Tell us a little about your musical family members.
My other is a musician, playing Saxaphone, piano. Organize, according. My father plays trumpet, and has a tenor voice. All my siblings were also musicians learning an instrument. Either violin, piano and trumpet.
When did you decide to become a professional musician? Was it a gradual decision or was there a defining moment for you?
In higghchoo, I did rotary club work. It inspired me. I gre hp in New York Stae and Broadway was an encouragijg thing frok many of ny teachers. I was offered a scholarship in music for college. I was gifted with a very nice so0rano voice.
What is your favorite style/genre of music to play and why?
I don't knownif I have a favorite. I have an eclectic taste in music. I do enjoy higher forms of music like classical and worship music. It depends on the peoppe group working with as for the style. Folk, Broadway, Classical. Gospel. Worship, bluesgrass. Etc.
Do you use specific teaching methods or books? (Ex: Alfred, Bastion, Suzuki, Hal Leonard) Why did you choose them if you did?
I use Suzuki and my own approach depending on students goals.
What does a normal practice session look like for you?
Voice " warm up exercises, gocus on breath control and application of vocal perdigogy to produce propert vocalization for songs performed.
Violin: scales ,arpeggios, exercises to produce proper tech.on repertoire preparation.
Piano: scales,arpeggios, focus on theory,focus on building perfection in reperaroire.
Memorization.
If you have a Music Degree, what is it in (Performance, Education, Musicology, Theory, Composition, etc) and why did you choose that degree?
I have Musci Conservatory training at the Misic C9nservatoey of Eaatoamn, University of Rochester. N.Y.
I studied at Oral Robert's University, and was a Performance Major with an emphasis in Education.
What is your dream piece to perform and why?
I don't know that I have ONE. There are many lovely compositions worth performing. Various compostions including originals can and will he performed. Classical. Modern and originals.
If you weren't a musician what do you think you'd be doing instead?
Technology. Real Estate. Writing perhaps. Journalism

Have any of your students won awards or been selected for special honors? How have they succeeded?
Yes.
What do you think is the hardest thing to master on your instrument?
Voice: breath control.
Piano : theory.
Violin : bowing, tone, fingerings and theory. Most challenging of my instruments.
Why did you choose your primary instrument?
Experience and enjoyment.
What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
Participation in worship teams at church. Performances in plays and rotary club. Audio recirdings.
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
It's never to early. It's never too late.Tje parent will have to instill discipline. I am a certified Music Together Instructor. We specialize in children ages 0- 4.
What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
I recommend scales to warm up. Review of past lesson and a focus on current work. Time period depends on age and attention span. Also, I recommend taking a few mintues each practice section to site read and try exercises of songs that are a challenge to the student.
