Some of my career highlights include the many recitals I have crafted and performed with musical colleagues, singing in a NY opera program called American Singers' Opera Project, my debut at Carnegie Hall in 2012 and all those wordelss moments of connecting with an audience during songs. I am deeply passionate about teaching voice and feel that teaching is really my greatest gift. Born and raised in Alaska, I have been teaching kids, teens, and adults music and theatre since I was in highschool. I began my training at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, finishing my degree at Western Connecticut State University with a Minor in Theatre Arts in 2013. I have a microphone and amplification system and would be able to teach students to sing with a microphone for live performances. I have been studying classical piano for almost 20 years. I have also played jazz piano for over ten years. Additionally, I have been playing flute for 12 years. I am currently accepting beginner to intermediate adult piano students. I teach both voice and guitar. As an instructor of voice I start with Breathing exercises, posture, and ear training. I take methods from "The Singing Book" by Maribeth Dayme Cynthia Vaughn. With children, I gage how well their grasping the fundamentals before learning songs. Once we've gotten their we move forward to learning about different techniques. As a kid, I was raised in the so-called Russian tradition, took lessons with European professors in my teenage years, and immigrated to North America at the age of nineteen. I believe in acquiring a global understanding through a multiplicity of styles. Jazz and classical are my points of departure and then I incorporate different material as you develop your skills. I have several method books that I use including "Mastering Piano Technique", "Manual of Scales and Arpeggios", "The Jazz Theory Book" and "Harmony and Theory" by Keith Wyatt to name a few. For vocalists, I develop your sound to a point where we can do a full basic assessment of skills that we can build off of so we have a clear direction of where we are going. Read More

I am a dedicated teacher who enjoys working with students of all levels. I graduated from the Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. The operatic roles that I performed while at the Hartt School include Leila in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe and The Strawberry Woman in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. Since graduating from the Hartt School, I have sung roles with Hartford Opera Theater in Hartford, CT as well as Haymarket Opera Company in Chicago, IL, among others. Read More
