My teaching experience began when I completed my degree in Music Education 10 years ago. Since that time I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages. As a teacher, I believe it is my job to meet my students where they are in their development, and prescribe exercises, repertoire, and information that will help the student with each of their individual needs and goals. I use different methods depending of the students' age and ability. Singers should always learn to breathe correctly and vocalize depending on their range. I could also use the Vaccai method for opera aspiring singers. For basic piano guitar, chords and harmonizing for accompaniment. For the recorder to learn to read music and play what's written. I usually start with breathing exercises and vocalises for all students. I also use the exercise books Concone and Sieber. After the student has grasped the breathing and the coordination of the vocalises we move on to repertoire that is age appropriate. I encourage my students to sing in Italian as this helps them to acquire a proper technique because Italian uses pure vowels. I have studied with some great teachers and feel like I need to pass on those methods to the next generation of musicians. Read More

I have been teaching private voice since 1991.  Along with teaching privately out of my home, over the years I have served on faculty as an adjunct voice professor at the college and university level, and have taught private voice in school districts for their junior high and high school choirs.  My own children study with me and are performing regularly in musical theater productions and choirs.  I love helping singers discover their beautiful, God-given singing voice and watching it blossom as they consistently practice and apply the techniques. We talk about their favorite styles of music and artists. I am so excited to see my students progress and learn a new chord, play a new song well, sing a more challenging song, increase their vocal range, and become excited about their new musical skills! My teaching experience began at a young age. I started volunteering lessons for the youth in my church. I played keyboard on the worship team for several years and some youth students showed interest so I would teach them every now and then. In 2017, I started teaching private lessons at a studio in Fort Worth. I recently finished my studies to receive my Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree from Sam Houston State University. At SHSU I gained experience working with a variety of clientele including those diagnosed with autism, dementia, traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and spina bifida. I also provided live percussion music with the Creative Movement Program with the dance department at Sam Houston State University.
