I began teaching voice 6 years ago, while still in my own undergraduate studies. Teaching bass and piano quickly followed once I realized how much I enjoyed the teaching side of music. I learned to love music at an early age, which got me into taking lessons, and eventually learning the process that is required to move a student forward. Slow and steady progress in all areas of music is the way I have learned, and is the way that I teach. Read More

Although I may be fairly new to formal teaching, my experience working in groups and sessions has taught me an incredible amount about humility and teamwork. I really love working with students and having that I get it now! moment. Ive studied with vocal coaches myself since I was nine years old. Vocal health is a huge part of my practice. Our voices are very delicate and should get the most caring treatment as we use our lovely built-in instruments! I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2020 and am so grateful to study with some of the best teachers. Read More

My teaching philosophy is that students blossom at their own pace. Some concepts might be more difficult for some to grasp than others. Students may excel in some areas and struggle in others. I teach sustainable and kind methods of practice and learning. I believe that a teachers true job is to teach a student how to practice. I encourage short and long term goal-setting. I believe that what keeps any musician coming back to the woodshed is enthusiasm. Read More

My performance experience started at a very young age and consisted of entertaining myself in front of the mirror (at age 2), and creating shows for family. I started doing musicals and concerts at church around age 4 and entered community theatre around age 6. My enthusiasm for the performing arts continued to grow throughout childhood, and my teenage years. I started private Voice lessons at age 16 and studied Musical Theatre at Kent State University for the first two years of college. Read More
