I'm a professional singer/actress and teacher who is passionate about giving students everything they need to be a great performer. I graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2010 and went on to earn my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Louisville in 2013. Since then I have spent my time performing with musical theatre and opera companies and teaching students of all ages. Read More

Growing up with multiple educators in my family has had a huge impact on my life as a volunteer in classrooms. My volunteer experience began when I was in fifth grade, and has continued throughout all of my education experience at Concordia. As I kept growing into a stronger individual, I discovered that the age group I wanted to work with also grew older with me. Working in multiple classrooms throughout my life has only strengthened my resolve to be a teacher because of the communities I have discovered through volunteering. Read More

Honestly though, most of my development has come outside of the educational system, and through my own work and practice. Read More

I believe that finding one's voice can have powerful implications in other areas of life. Read More

During my time at Oberlin, I took a certification class specifically about string pedagogy. I am very well versed in various methods of technique training for all instruments in the violin family. With beginners. I teach in a modified Suzuki method that includes music reading after a few months. In general I focus on technique and then add in the more fun musical gestures. I also teach ear-training alongside violin/viola study. Read More

I began teaching music lessons at Lewis Music in downtown Kissimmee, Florida in 2004. In the years that have followed I have had students from 5-90 years old and from every background imaginable. Each student is unique so I have learned to adapt to each students goals and preferences. I am happy to teach songwriting, digital music production, and music theory to my most advanced students, and it fills me with joy to hear the songs they write or perform! Read More
