Music is my passion and I love sharing that with others! I am a recent graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Music Education with a minor in musical theatre. I've had a wide array of experiences in both the education and the performing world. I have a more laid back teaching style that is adapted to the student's personality and learning style. The last thing that any student wants is a stressful environment. Musical lessons should be challenging and have an element of fun as well. The student should leave the lesson wanting to come back to another lesson not feeling like they should put their instrument down and give up. As for my experience, I have been playing guitar for 15 years, teaching for 5 years, and active in bands for 7 years. I was privileged to receive private guitar lessons myself for a decade. Also, I have a solid amount of experience with audio recording, mixing, and microphone techniques for amplifying instruments. As far as teaching credentials go, I have not earned any official documents from any institution. I just moved to the Chicago area in the beginning of 2013 to further my performing career. Curently I sing with Chicago Opera Playhouse and am actively auditioning in the Chicago area.  I have been teaching in the Columbus area for 14 years.  I have studied piano and voice for 30 years performing and had experience auditioning for and performing in musical theater, opera, and contemporary settings.
