I always say that everyone is different in the way of learning, and that is something I tell all the students. I alway tell all my students to make a plan, short term goals and long term goals, never stop studying and never stop searching for new experiences in this amazing world of music and art. This will keep the students with the desire to keep learning and going each day further than the day before, and therefore, they will achieve with discipline each and one of the goals they pursue in life. Although I began my musical career in the Suzuki method, I intentionally balance the ear-training approach of that method with music theory to create well-rounded musicians. My students will learn how to sight read music, improvize their own melodies, perform in an ensemble (chamber and/or orchestral) and master the art of performance with a solid foundation in music theory. I generally start off with Suzuki repertoire for beginning students, but supplement that with scales, positions exercises, dexterity exercises, and sight-reading material. Read More

I believe that it is very important for any singer to have a music theory background, so I make sure to include in any of my vocal lessons basic keyboard knowledge. Further, I have found that it is important to incorporate all types of music in lessons. Learning all sorts of style in music is crucial to continue growing as a performer. Finally, it is important for a student to enjoy their lessons and find passion in their own music. Read More

I have been teaching students in music for 5+ years now, with guitar being my primary instrument. I was initially self taught, learning mainly from the countless forums, videos, and banks of articles and knowledge that the internet had to offer, but that would only take me so far. I then decided to major in music, for which I'm still undertaking, which has taken my musicianship much higher. I use a combination of teaching styles accumulated from my own time learning to expedite my students progress, so they don't have to take as long as I did to get to their goals on their instrument. I strongly believe in having an open and honest relationship with my student. I think both should know upfront what the expectations should be, such as how long they will practice, what proper progress and growth looks like, as well as what they need from me to help them succeed. More than anything, I want to help my students grow their love for music in any way I can, and that might be different for everyone but that should be the priority. Read More

I believe music is a gift that unites people together bringing out our deepest emotions that words cannot express. At the age of 5 I received an organ and from that point on I embarked on a long life journey to indulge and learn more about music. In elementary, junior high and high school I was involved in any subject dealing with music. I joined school choirs, orchestras, bands, marching bands, jazz bands, musicals you name it. Read More

. I really desire the child to enjoy lessons. I like to build their confidence that they are achieving. I'm strict in how I teach the language of music. I don't half way teach and desire my students to be able to sight read music and understand timing. If i have a student that doesn't understand I explain in in math and they have all understood how important timing is. Students work at their pace and have some students work very fast and move quickly while others are slower. Read More
