I began my vocal private studio while working on my Masters degree in Copenhagen in 2007. Since then I have maintained an active studio in various cities including Miami and New York City with students of all ages and levels of experience. Instruction in all genres including Pop, Jazz, Classical and Musical Theatre while maintaining our focus on proper vocal technique and good musicianship. I also worked as the main vocal instructor, choral director and music teacher at the Roxy Performing Arts Center in Miami, Florida from 2009 to 2013. Music in the school system is taught backwards. If you're a beginner, you were put in a beginning class. this makes it very difficult for students to advance quickly because they aren't playing music with people who are more advanced than them. I make sure the students have the ability to play the instrument before they learn a ton of theory, because knowing how the wrritten form of music work without being able to play them is recipe for frustration. My teach experiences started back in my undergraduate career. I began teaching private voice lessons part time to students at certain ages in my home studio for 3 and half years. One of my key points is a consistent schedule for students to practice so they can progress and gain the love for singing like I did.
