My main goal and teaching is to inspire self motivation and make it fun! I like to pick songs that are fun to play and challenging at the same time depending on what level you are at that time. By doing this I think keeping the instrument out and not in the closet is a good start that way if the inspiration hits you and you want to play it is within your reach "guitar stand and wall hangers are ideal" and not in the case the put away " Out of sight out of mind" I suggest buying a music stand for your instruments and or wall hangers which seem to work very well as a display and also so the instrument is within your reach. I create my own custom lesson plans based on the needs and goals of each student. Usually, when a student first comes to my studio I listen to them sing a series of exercises and then a song so that I can get a good idea of where they are in their vocal development. I usually begin teaching fundamentals of breath and posture and resonant space in the first few lessons, but then build upon that with specific exercises and repertoire that fits each student's needs.
