I've been playing music for most of my life. Growing up my whole family would all gather around the piano while my father played. Seeing how inspiring and influential music could be at a young age helped me to develop a passion for it. I am very grateful to share my passion with others through teaching. I specialize in teaching improvisational styles, such as blues, jazz, and funk. While I do teach students to read music and teach the theory behind tunes and compositions that we learn, I think that the MOST important element in anyone's pursuit of musical proficiency lay in the ability to connect what one hears to what one plays. I try to convey my love of music by making lessons a fun time for them, while also instilling discipline by rewarding good practice.
