Over the years I've really come to appreciate being a music instructor. I've never found it boring. Its always interesting and a great opportunity to grow as well. I've been playing music in Bands, Orchestras, and Jazz Ensembles since 1975. I've recorded multiple albums of my own original music. I like my students to be able to learn and progress at the rate they can or want to. Letting students let you know what they want to learn and at what pace, helps the student as well as the teacher in that progress. I will always ask students what they're interested in learning and work that into the lesson. But the main focus for beginners is to be comfortable with the fretboard and to have fun. I break lessons down into technique, theory, and whatever the student is particularly wanting to learn.
