I approach teaching in a fun, practical way. It is easy to get swept up in technique and theory when learning an instrument. While those are very important, it is essential to apply them musically. Every concept I teach, I will provide an example in an actual piece of music. I will help students set realistic goals to achieve to keep the passion going. Music is my life and I want to share my love for music with my students. Read More

I am a professional musician, educator and session bassist, currently residing in Los Angeles. Formerly self-taught, I received my education at Musicians Institute, where I graduated as Most Outstanding Student of the year 1998. Since then I have been playing, teaching and recording internationally and locally with a wide range of artists, covering nearly every style of contemporary music, from jazz/fusion to rock/metal. I recently released two solo albums with classical music adapted for the bass guitar. Read More

I love to see my students progress throughout our lessons and encourage them to learn at a pace that is suitable for them. I do so by giving them assignments that I know they can tackle during the week. I acknowledge their progress with positive reinforcement as such feedback is important to a student's sense of achievement. This positive reinforcement feeds into the student's desire to keep learning and makes it more enjoyable for both them and I. Read More

I have taught quite literally all ages. 5-75. Styles and lesson books used varied depending upon student and school. I usually taught Suzuki for violin, viola and classical guitar (tend to prefer Scott Tennant Pumping Nylon book for classical guitar though). And usually Faber Piano Adventures for young piano students. Eventually going to Clementi Sonatinas and Chopin Preludes. Also Mel Bay Modern Guitar for beginning rock/jazz guitarists. Then eventually going to Mickey Bakers Jazz Guitar books. Read More

My teaching method is different depending on the abilities of each student. For beginning students, I use the Haskell W. Harr Drum Method Books 1 2, Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone, and The All-American Drummer 150 Rudimental Swing solos by Charley Wilcoxin. Once I feel like a student is strong enough on the snare drum, I will then work with them on developing limb independence on the drum set. All of the snare drum method books that I use with my students will eventually be adapted for drum set. Read More
