Many people remember music lessons in their youth as a time consuming source of frustration, built upon outdated music with no connection to the student's day to day life. This is why I like to divide lessons between fundamentals such as reading and theory, and apply those practices to the students' favorite songs. The greatest thing is to be able to see a student perform the music they love, so the real goal is for the student to build a repertoire of favorite songs to perform for family, friends, on-line or onstage. I'm a driven music teacher with an unending curiousity and love of the musical mind. I graduated Ithaca College with a B.A. in music performance specializing in classical guitar. Originally from Boston, I moved to NYC in the summer of 2011 to pursue teaching and playing music professionally. Since then, I've acquired a decent roster of students and have been gigging fairly regularly with a number of different projects. I started playing piano at an early age and from there I've tried to keep the learning process going. Read More

I'm a Creative, Passionate, Music Loving person and Instructor. I share my experience of decades of private music instruction. I studied with the great master Lennie Tristano who presented me in Solo concert performance. I played Town Hall NYC and recorded a tribute album there to rave reviews in the New York Times. I have played concerts throughout the tri-state area as well as in Europe. I love to tailor each lesson as a custom fit for each individual students needs! Read More

I've been playing bass for over 30 years and still love picking it up to learn new songs, styles and various approaches to the instrument and the song. I enjoy teaching students and seeing the satisfaction from them as they get better and progress in their playing. I've been fortunate enough to having played bass through the years with (however brief) Ace Frehley from Kiss, Eddie Ojeda from Twisted Sister and various members of Cheap Trick, Anthrax, Black Sabbath, Frehley's Comet and Badlands. I'm a very optimistic person. I like to inspire my students, and watch them have fun and grow! Lessons should be a fun thing to look forward to. As a kid, I had many lessons and teachers that I did not enjoy going to, and I don't want that to be the case for my lessons. Learning a new musical skill is fun, and really fulfilling, and I want my students to feel that way when they work with me. Read More

I usually don't believe in rules. I never really followed the rules as a musician and just played how I felt because of my gift. I make music sound more colorful and bright and I can add any instrument to music and make it sound good. Technically, I would just teach beginners how to play whatever instrument they want to learn. For example, if you want to learn how to play the piano, I will sit down with you the first day and we will go over how to play the piano and you will automatically be playing notes and chords after the first session.
