I started growing my studio when I was in school, about 7 years ago, I was teaching at soundboard music in Stow, Ohio. I start every student with basic terminology for the instrument. I work on bow technique and instrument technique very early on, I believe every student wants to play as soon as possible. Music should be fun and as such, if a student is not enjoying lessons anymore I do not push and leave the option to end up to the student and parents. For students who are already in an instrumental program through school, I will start with whatever method book they are using at school, and branch off from there. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. I teach with an emphasis on tone and sound production. I believe that once we know what sound we want to create we are better able to physically make it happen. Through this ideology I use the Suzuki method and like to prioritize listening and playing by ear before note reading when the students are young beginners. Even if the student is older, I like to incorporate ear training with a mixture of all the skills we must master as musicians--note reading, sight reading, improvising, etc. Read More

My name is Amos, and I've performed and taught all over the world. I'm excited to share my love of music with a variety of students.  I've performed in orchestras like the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, performed recitals on three continents, and even spent some time teaching in South America.
