I have been playing cello for 20 years, after starting when I was 10. I was admitted to Jacksonville University at the age of 16 on a full scholarship, and there I pursued a double major in Music Theory Composition, and Cello Performance. I did my graduate work at Denver University, where I studied a variety of non-western musics, including Balinese gamelan, Ghanaian drumming, and Tuvan traditional music. I've had the opportunity to perform hundreds of times in my career in a variety of settings, including solo, chamber music, and orchestra. Read More

Throughout school and up until I graduated from college, I taught private cello lessons during the summers. I have been a classroom teacher (elementary, middle, and high school, in addition to teaching adults computer programming) for the past twelve years. I thoroughly enjoy working with students of all ages and helping them meet their goals. Currently, I am studying at the University of Colorado Boulder with Professor David Requiro to receive my Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance. In addition to my educational experience, I have also attended several summer music institutes including the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Innsbrook Institute, Online Summer Strings Intensive, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival.
