During the initial lesson, I determine what the student is interested in learning the best approach pace to help them achieve their goals. While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important. I've found even the simple act and writing out a favorite song and learning through that can give wonderful benefits, gaining new tools without realizing. Read More

I have always been a natural teacher and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. As a high school student, I enjoyed mentoring other students in the band. This led to my interest in being a music education major in college where I gave lessons and taught marching band for 3 years. Now, as a middle school band director I am able to teach students every single day. I start students on a range of instruments and guide them through middle school as their director. Read More
