My approach to learning an instruments is to have the students learn to play by ear first before they can start learning to read music. I find that most students are able to progress quickly because it frees them to focus on the playing the instruments rather than reading notes. My musical involvements at school are focused in my performances with the CSUF Wind Symphony and the CSUF Symphony Orchestra, where I served as the principal clarinet for our last concert season. While I've been in college ,I've been fortunate to play in music festivals in both the US (Hawaii Performing Arts Festival) and Canada (Domaine Forget) and toured with the CSU Fullerton Wind Symphony in Portugal and China.
