I normally start off by teaching them the grip for the drum stick and the basic stroke. From there I will teach them basic rhythmic patterns found in styles such as rock, pop, and jazz. I will also teach them what the notation looks like for those rhythmic patterns. I received a scholarship to study music education at A&M-Commerce University. After two years, I decided to move to San Marcos to perform in the central Texas area.
