I have been playing guitar for approximately 15 years. Over those years I have played many different styles, playing different instruments in different bands, from open mics to big venues all over the country. I love playing music and love helping others discover their love as well. One note worthy teaching gig I’ve had was working for a company in Nassau County, NY teaching guitar and music theory to developmentally challanged adults in a day program. There is no musician I will turn away; my focus is guitar, but I have many instruments and can introduce the basics for many such as drums, violin, viola, cello, piano, bass guitar, as well as composition and arrangment. I have worked with many bands, ensembles, and chamber groups, and would love the opportunity to help you achieve your musical goals. Whatever your musical interests, I'll help you get to where you want to go. Read More

I want all my students to succeed. It is important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realist goals for my students at each lesson. I try to find out what inspires my students, then I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Read More

I cater my teaching style to each student's age, skill level and personality. I have a patient, relaxed teaching style but I'm always ready and willing to push the student as far as they want to go, encouraging them to try their best. Lessons are usually organized into a section focused on technique and music theory followed by a period dedicated to playing songs together, polishing up repertoire and focusing on playing music in real time, together as an ensemble. My teaching style is very simple. We will begin by finding the interests of the student. Then we’ll identify what they like about the instrument and their basic knowledge. Once that is done, we’ll begin experimenting with different generes. And finally, we’ll create a plan that will allow them the chance to grow musically and fundamentally on the drums. This in total, will give myself and the student(s) the chance to see how their minds work as far as being able to give different tastes and feels of rhythm, on their instrument. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor and I love working with students and getting them to reach their maximum potential. Growing up, I was influenced by gospel music and played in church at a young age. Later on I gained a lot of marching band experience and training in music theory in the Frederick county Advanced Music Studies program. I have experience playing with many bands around the D.C metro area and have played in a range of small and large venues. Read More
