For beginning piano students, I start them with a variety of materials, beginning with John Thompson's piano books, along with stanzas of finger exercises to develop dexterity. But more importantly for me, is that I understand that people, especially now, want to start playing songs as soon as possible. So, I immediately teach them chords and scales. I moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to attend UCLA, where I studied Neuroscience, allowing me to learn in-depth about the human body, the mind, and how it learns. During my time there, I was also able to take a plethora of classes in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, learning skills such as recording, producing, engineering, and session musicianship from some of Los Angeles' most in-demand drummers, producers, and musicians.
