Since, I have played for multiple different artists, on multiple major record labels. I have also worked with some of the world's leading producers, the men behind songs you hear every day on the radio, as a studio drummer and/or bass player. Artists ranging from Aly AJ on Disney Channel to spaced-out mixed symphonic electronica with Paul Oakenfold, the English DJ legend. I am a percussionist from Ecuador. I have broad and deep training in world and latin percussion, classical and contemporary music performance, and composition. In 2011 I moved to Brasil to complete my undergrad, and in 2015 I graduated from UNESP (Sao Paulo State University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance. Later in 2017, I moved to Los Angeles to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in World Percussion from the California Institute of the Arts, where I had the opportunity to study with renowned musicians. My teaching style is generally laid back. I believe that a student will only work as hard as they want to, and I have little control over that. I focus more on finding out what will make the student want to work hard, rather than forcing them to study something that does not interest them. It's all about getting the student to have a positive musical experience. I believe in getting the student interested in the concepts and styles themselves, i like to introduce them to different ways of playing and my main method is to show them how it can be exciting to play/learn. For eg, for someone who loves games, I would show them how to play chords and melody ( on a piano ) at the same time by using the Minecraft theme song as an example, or any game that they might know and enjoy so it gets them interested to want to play and learn, through that i will show them dfferent techniques and concepts, this way they are already enjoying what they are learning and at no point will not want to practice it on their own. I have been teaching for 7 years and under those years I have taught first timers and more advanced players and helped players get better at drums. I first started teaching friends kids and it grew from there and more people asked for lessons and I made more time for it and really feel in love with teaching.
