My teaching experience dates back to my time in college as I spent many hours working with high-school marching bands and giving individual lessons on drum set and battery percussion. Once I moved to Los Angeles, the focus of my teaching switched to private lessons in students homes and rented studio spaces. After graduating from the Los Angeles College of Music, I was asked back as a substitute to teach their sight reading classes, to assist in styles classes such as Rock and Jazz, and as an assistant running the console in their "Recording for Musicians" class. Most of all I enjoy sewing the seed of passion that I received when I began playing my first guitar at the age of 8, and nurturing that which has brought me to love and enjoy the music I experience everyday of my life. I hope that everyone of my students gets out of the each lesson exactly what they came for and more. Whether you are looking for a hobby, trying to reach mastery, or just want to learn a few tunes for a loved one, I want to focus the lesson to your desire. Read More

I love working hard with students who are extremely motivated, who practice a lot, and who want to move onto more advanced concepts and exercises each week, however I also love working with students who don't have a whole lot of time to practice and who simply want to use playing music as a way to wind down on the weekends. Regardless of your goals, it's my aim to be clear about what it looks like to get there and to ensure that you're having fun watching yourself grow. Read More

One thing I love to do is understand the kid I am teaching. Because I love to teach, it makes me happy to see my students enjoy what they learn, and that is why it is important to me to develope good teaching habits and a good sense of direction. I like my students to have fun learning, and feel comfortable growing without limiting themselves. I also try to be as organized as possible. Read More

The most important thing in my lesson is to have fun. I really care if students are having fun, and I will always find a way to bring them a great joy of playing music. Another thing that's really important is to make sure that students are learning what they truly wants to learn. In the begging of lesson, I always ask a student about what they want to learn specifically. Read More

The student and I will begin to develop a relationship right away. Trust and communication are key. We'll see where the student stands in his or her current playing. They will usually play for a minute or so and talk out loud about their feelings on their playing. This will include thoughts like where he or she starts to get bored, gets stuck, wants to explore more, has trouble, etc. Read More
