I first ask the student to play so I can hear him/her. After a student plays a short piece of music of their own choosing I can determine what the next step is. Each student has his/her own individual needs. I have taught students of all levels and ages, primarily students in the age range of 9-21, although I have had students of all ages. In addition to teaching flute at P.S. 7, I travelled to Salvador, Brazil in 2009 and 2010 to work with the students enrolled in the "Neojiba" program, which provides instruments and teaching to low-income youth. My experience in teaching began in college, teaching younger college students through my schools mentorship program. I also shadowed high school and middle school students lessons through the Hartt School Community division. I was able to learn to teach these students guided by several experienced and accomplished flute instructors. Now currently I am an adjunct flute instructor at NYU. I teach non-major flute students at NYU, which has allowed me to teach students with all different musical backgrounds and skill levels. Read More

An active orchestral musician, she has played under conductors like Kurt Masur, Eric Jacobsen, JoAnn Falletta, Alondra De La Parra, and George Manahan and worked with musicians including Sir James Galway, Robert Langevin, Carol Wincenc, Paula Robison, David Krakauer, and Charles Neidich. I have a lot of orchestral experience due to the rigorous orchestra program that I attended at Bard Conservatory, but at the same time have explored a lot of the solo repertoire for flute, flute and piano as well as flute and orchestra.
