I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2004, I graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education. I've performed with the Waterloo Wind Band (Austin), the Austin Symphonic Band, the Cypress Symphonic Band, and the Shimmer Flute Choir. I love teaching, and I firmly believe that almost anyone can be taught to do almost anything! I have music degrees from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, and USF in Tampa, Florida. After teaching at Hope for 6 years, I joined the Air Force to play with the world-class musicians that make up their bands. I realize many students will learn at different paces so it's important to work with kids on an individual level to make sure they're learning most effectively. Positive reinforcement through encouragement and setting attainable goals is another way of ensuring my students are making progress.
