I'm a dedicated performer and teacher who looks forward to each student's unique strengths and interests in music. In 2010, I began my undergraduate education in Flute Performance at the renowned University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. I've enjoyed learning new performing styles by participating in competition and groups from across the United States. My musical background is diverse. For beginning and intermediate students, I like to assign short pieces from method books such as Student Instrumental Course and Rubank. For more advanced students, I will help them explore their particular interests, introduce them to traditional repertoire, and for jazz/rock/pop students, aid them in the process of transcribing the music they love, which benefits their vocabulary as well as their ears. For beginner piano students I generally work out the Faber Piano Adventures and for adults I use The Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. For Flute students I use the Trevor Wye Beginners Book for the Flute. Clarinet I use the Rubank Method books. I began teaching private lessons when I was in high school. Since then I have gained more experience teaching privately and in group settings. In college I had the opportunity to direct and teach a community flute choir for adults. Currently I teach private and group lessons to high school students through the Boston Public Public School District.
