I personalize my lesson plans and drills to accommodate the student's strengths, weaknesses, and over all goal. I will push you to your limits so you can go even further than you thought you could. I have developed my own system and materials for introducing the fingerings and reading music in a methodical way. I write my own simple exercises and songs. I use the Wagner book and a duet book, and appropriate solos depending on the interests of the student. I customize the lessons and go where the student's needs and interests are. Popular songs can be good as solos, and some studnets really enjoy playing Handel, Telemann, and Bach. Read More

I have been providing private and group lessons through the New England Youth Wind Ensembles for over three years. I have experience with online, as well as in-person lessons. I encourage regular practice to all students, as it is important to develop daily and weekly routines. This, combined with gauging each student's skill level and needs, is the basis of my teaching style. I never use negative incentives with my students, as I believe that does more harm than good. The duo recently placed second in the Best Composers Series for Best Bartok Performance for their performance of Bartoks Romanian Folk Dances. Ms. Kaitlin H. is currently completing her masters degree in flute performance at The Hartt School under Janet Arms. She previously completed her undergraduate degree in flute performance with a minor in social media under Dr. Susanna Lowey and Janet Axelrod.
