It is my goal to customize the lesson experience for every student that I teach. Most beginners benefit from a method book, such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, which is a good starting place for most students. As students progress on their instrument, I choose the method books and solos that will best help them develop their talents as well as keep them engaged in the material. My teaching experience dates back to high school. I was a student leader in the marching band, serving as the woodwind captain for the marching band and the senior student conductor for the concert bands. With these positions, I was able to tutor peers and work on expanding my knowledge of teaching music. In 2012, I graduated from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University with my Master's of Music degree in Conducting, and in 2008 I graduated from the Western Carolina University Honors College with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education.
