Ive been lucky enough to perform worldwide in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House, recording classical music albums as well as film music and pop songs. I am very familiar with all of the standard piano methods, and will evaluate the student in the first few lessons to choose a method that they will be the most comfortable with.  I supplement all lessons with music theory and outside repertoire, allowing the students to choose from their favorite genres/artists.  For theatre, musical theatre, and vocal coaching, I also employ Linklater and Alexander techniques. I have an interactive yet focused style of teaching. I can(but don't recommend) to use the Suzuki method. I feel that all aspects related to the instruments weigh much importance in teaching the student. However, with the Suzuki method, the student's primary focus is to learn pieces rapidly and climb the level of difficulty as fast as possible. This prevents him/her to fully understand and analyze the piece and lesson and it can also turn the student away from pursuing the instrument further.  Read More

As mentioned above, each student is motivated by something different and has different musical goals. I try to find ways to make lessons fun and interesting for each and every student. As such, my approach for a less serious student will be different from my approach for a more serious student. However, I make sure that all students have a goal that they are working towards; Perhaps, a piece that they hope to perform at contest or a concert, or mastering their scales and arpeggios in every key.
