I adapt my teaching style depending on the student. I'm a firm believer one can't just follow the same recipe with every student. Every person is different. My main focus with beginning students is maintaining the fun about learning as to maintain their passion for the instrument and thus really putting the effort in. I typically start beginner students on the Rubank Elementary Method books for saxophone, clarinet, or flute. These books are a great way to introduce the basic mechanics of the instrument, as well as reading music. I generally like to branch out from the method books as soon as possible, by supplementing the basic reading with other technical studies and pieces. For adults and more advanced students, I like to steer the focus more in the direction of what they want to learn, while still teaching the proper fundamentals of the instrument! Read More

I began teaching privately in high school- mainly teaching my younger fellow students. During college I taught at two private lesson studios in New Jersey. I expanded the instruments I offered there, and met students young and old, and over time, I learned how different people of different ages and backgrounds learned and understood music. I now currently teach both privately and at a private studio in Queens.
