I have taught flute for 4 years to people of all ages -I have taught children, high school students, pre-college division music majors, college students and adult amateurs - students who have played in school and community orchestras, churches and for their own personal enjoyment. I am a sixth semester student at Berklee College of Music, dual majoring in saxophone performance and jazz composition, and have studied with many inspiring professors as well as learned from many amazing educators. For beginners, I typically start with fundamentals and technique combined with the, Essential Elements 2000. Once the student gets in track, I start introducing more advanced book such Rubank, J.H Luft, H.Klose and Feerling. For adults and more advanced students, most likely I develop a custom guide and protocol based on what their focus of interest is. I am dedicated and passionate flutist whose goal is to create meaningful musical experiences for audiences and students alike. Music is one of the most important and inspiring things I do everyday and I am grateful to have the opportunity to share it with students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University in 1989. Until that time, I was a member of the local symphony as well as playing in other symphonies, musical theater, private events, chamber groups, etc. I then moved to Dallas, TX where I attended and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a master's in Music Education and Flute Performance. I have been a music educator in the public schools for over 40 years having taught in Austin, Texas and currently in Fort Worth, Texas.
