I am currently a senior studying Music Education at Brigham Young University and am super excited about students and teaching music! I love volleyball, spikeball, spending time outside, frozen yogurt, paint by numbers, reading, baking, and being with family! One of my favorite feelings is the satisfaction between mentor and mentee, when theyre able to accomplish something they werent before.I love to do that through private lessons. I participated in marching and concert band all throughout high school and college, including BYUs Wind Symphony, a touring group with which I have travelled to Spain and Portugal and will perform with at WASBE in Korea this summer. I encourage my students to practice smart instead of long. This is especially important for young students. I teach my students to self-evaluate their own playing. When difficult areas are recognized, this is where the practicing focus should be. Above all, music should be enjoyable! Hard work disguised as FUN is my goal. I am great at giving positive feedback. I enjoy celebrating success. I feel that it is important to let the student set the pace and then encourage from there. Read More
