I was interested in teaching from a young age; I loved to play school with my friends. I started tutoring in high school, as well as teaching private flute lessons. I have taught private lessons since 2017 and have loved every moment of it, both with beginners and with more advanced high school students. I began working as a marching band technician in 2021 and have since worked for numerous schools. I usually start out using the Rubank Method, but I frequently incorporate some Suzuki and other ear training methods as well. I also like to use Trevor Wyes books for more advanced students. I like to expose all students to a classical repertoire of performance pieces, using basics for beginners and progressing in difficulty as the student gains more control of the instrument. I use a variety of books with etudes, or studies, to give students a strong background in technique while also teaching various musical concepts such as theory and improvisation. Read More
