For beginning students, I start with the Douglas Steensland Flute Student books. For intermediate and advanced students, I focus on memorization of scales in addition to working out of Taffanel and Gaubert's 17 Daily Exercises, etude books (i.e., Melodious and Progressive series), and standard flute repertoire. My goal as a teacher is to help the students improve their overall musicianship, while also addressing each students personal goals. I began teaching privately in high school- mainly teaching my younger fellow students. During college I taught at two private lesson studios in New Jersey. I expanded the instruments I offered there, and met students young and old, and over time, I learned how different people of different ages and backgrounds learned and understood music. I now currently teach both privately and at a private studio in Queens. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas for TMEA full orchestra in 2011, Hartford Convention Center for 2015 Connecticut All-State Festival, and at the IES Music Center in Vienna, Austria where I studied flute performance with Forough Djafar-Zadeh-Karimi and Ulrike Anton in the spring of 2018.
