In 2014, I graduated from Academy of Music Ljubljana (Slovenia) with a Masters degree of Musical Arts in Flute Performance. I had an opportunity to perform as a solist, chamber group member and as a member of Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra around Europe. It has a CD, with the band in the background , so it makes it fun for a practice session at home. I also learned "Brain Gym" from one of my flute teachers. I always like to incorporate that especially if the student has some confusion or is stuck on an area like a certain rhythmic phrase, or anything hard to unravel, as well as reading music. In addition, I like to use yellow clear gels over the music should the student have a little trouble with eye tracking or staying focused. Read More

For beginners, they must learn how to play the instrument. So books like standard of excellence or essential elements are great resources. I will guide them through what the book cannot explain and help them truly internalize aspects of playing their instrument. For more advanced players, we will work on tone, advanced technique, new styles as well as history, modern practices and more. I have found through my past experiences, that when my teacher is truly dedicated to their craft, and wants their student to succeed, the more successful both parties are. I approach teaching by focusing on fundamental theory and techniques. For beginning students, I use the Trevor Wye beginning books and supplement with solos, etudes, songs and exercises that I give them which are appropriate for their level. For more advanced students, I will use etudes and methods/ solos which are appropriate for their level. For adults, I will find their interests and select a course of study with them.  With all students, I will assist with their school music or any ensemble/ solo music they wish.
