Ibegan teaching private lessons from 2004 and tried to consistently teaching students in my home studio. I was a counselor and private lesson instructor at the OSU Flute Workshop from 2011 to 2013. Playing duets with student, learn very exciting extended techniques, and various repertoire are features I emphasize for students to help them enjoy and motivate to learn. My lessons focus on trouble areas identified during the initial lesson. I would develop a plan of attack setting realistic goals that are both measureable, realistic and obtainable to achieve. A usual model lesson would consist of the following segments: 1. Intonation - I would spend about 5-10 minutes in this area training the student to properly find the center of pitch and listen for an adaptive center of pitch. I taught the saxophone section the basic fundamentals of saxophone, along with properly assembling and taking apart their instrument. This helped evolve my skills for new and beginning level music students to make playing instruments fun, enjoyable, and not too overwhelming or difficult to dull their desire to learn and progress.
