I studied percussion primarily in college, but also studied voice and piano during my time at Baldwin Wallace. I feel that this cookie cutter approach doesnt successfully work for everybody as it assumes everyone is the same. For beginners, I often keep my approach lax and hope to not overwhelm them, as Ive seen many a beginner quit due to lack of confidence and understanding.
