I began teaching students in college, and have consistently taught students of all ages and experience levels. I love being able to help new students along their path to becoming the musician they want to be. I focus my lessons on the students musical interests and apply music theory and proper technique instruction to help them reach their goals. My students have gone from 5 year old beginners to very accomplished piano and guitar players. The student gets to pick the first two songs of the lesson, and I pick the next 2. That way, they get a lot of choice for the lessons. With the pandemic, the students have been very consistent with not missions lessons, which is pushing their progress as well. For beginners, I tend to stick to basics by teaching them chords, scales, and basic music theory; by using music that they would like to learn how to play.
