If you want to learn jazz chord structure we can do that, too! If you want to improve solo on some scales, we can, of course, DO THAT!For bass guitar students I prefer to only take moderate to advanced students. I specialize in bass line composition using only a chord chart. I can teach advanced slap/pop techniques and when they should be used. A good understanding of the instrument is required. Read More

My main philosophy is that every student is different and should be treated accordingly. The methods I use are specifically tailored to each student and can be methods that I have learned or developed myself. I start students off by asking them collect ideas about their instrument and the music they enjoy. From that point, I begin to simultaneously teach technique and musicianship in relation to their expressed interests. The key to my teaching method is that I ask difficult questions and then I give the student time to think and develop an answer. Read More

I've been teaching Guitar since I was an undergrad. I began teaching in public schools in 1985 and have taught Guitar, Band, and Orchestra at the Elementary, Middle and High School level. In our modern (distraction-filled) world, nothing is more rewarding than guiding my students toward developing artistry and intellectualism. Therefore, treating each student as an individual is paramount. Regardless of age or experience, my primary teaching goals bear improving a students abilities of cognitive function, problem solving, confidence, self-awareness, work ethic, artistry, and creativity through music. To accomplish this, I encourage the building of proper study habits to achieve personal goals. Read More

I believe it is very important to develop great relationships with my students as it will keep them more motivated and comfortable. I'm an easy going person and I like to keep my lessons relaxed and fun. Read More

My teaching style is based around having fun while learning important techniques. Some students will pick up a technique or a piece of music in one week, while another might struggle with the same piece for a whole month, and that's okay! I will never force a student to move on from something they feel less than great about, and with that ideology, I believe students gain the confidence that is so vital to the creative process of music making. My teaching method varies depending on their age. From 4 years to 8 years i use an advance learning method, which consists of developing reading and playing based on color coding music notes. For people 9 and up the method i use is the traditional method from the Cuban and Spaniard school. This consists of developing the three characteristics of a musician. The first characteristic called Theory consists of the learning everything concerning music theory and the instrument. Read More
