Books I use for teaching Piano is the Piano Adventures series of books by Nancy and Randall Faber, which is a great lesson book and a good basic piano method for beginners through intermediate level students. For guitar I use the Hal Leonard Incredible Chord Finder and the Warren Nunes Jazz guitar Rhythm and Background Chords and the Solo Patterns book. Also For both Piano and Guitar I have accumulated many charts and Berklee School of Music pages to use as students start to progress. Read More

While I aim to help students become their best, I ultimately want them to have fun above all else. I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I am very patient and happy to go over something more than once. Learning an instrument is more of a marathon than a sprint in my eyes, and I hope to guide each student on their own musical path. Lessons can range anywhere from simply learning about the instrument itself, going over foundational music theory(notes, chords, scales, intervals, and so on), learning site reading and tablature and the benefits of both. I'm a very open and positive teacher who's quick to validate your learning achievements whether you're a fast and intuitive learner, or a bit more introverted and contemplative. I'm a firm believer in encouraging and uplifting others when I'm given the opportunity to create a lasting and positive impact through teaching music. When you feel like the material that's being taught clicks, you see how the direction of your learning goals begin to fully take shape, and you're achieving the most out of your learning style, the opportunities that can arise will amaze you. My methods for teaching change with each student, meaning I cater the lesson to your needs. I am not going to teach an adult the same way I teach a child and vice versa. Everyone learns differently and at different speeds so I like to find out how you learn early on so I can tweak my lesson plan accordingly. I also, with certain steps in the lesson plan, like to give the student (depending on the age) options in lesson material because ultimately, you know how you learn best and I want you to get the most out of your lessons. There are different publishers that I use. Depending on the age, personality, age and interests of the students. It can vary; either Bastien, John Thompson, Alfred Publishing, Hal Leonard or any other I find appropriate. In a beginners face I explain notation values, names, posture and what affects their learning. Depending on the age of the student I decide if the material is suitable for their capacity of learning. We do different level and If I see that the student is a fast learner I upgrade them to an adult book. Read More

My teaching style very catered to the experience of the person learning the instrument. I think it's very important that the lessons move at the pace of which the student appears to be learning. The style of music the student wants to learn is rarely steered away from, I feel that too many teachers force students to learn songs outside their preferred genre just because the song is well known. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
