As a lover of multiple genres of music, I aim to improve technique, versatility, and musicianship with my teaching. I recently graduated Cum Laude from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Music Business. During my time in school, I performed throughout the Boston area at venues such as the Middle East and the Berklee Performance Center. After graduating, I was able to tour through parts of New England and perform at venues ranging from small night clubs to large festivals, including the Mud Run Rock Gods Tribute Festival in Howland, Maine. I listen to what the student has to say, and also hone in on where they are currently in their musicianship. This allows me to really see what areas need to be focused on specifically. I strongly encourage students to push themselves and will often provide slightly more challenging material to help them improve. One of the most rewarding moments is seeing a concept/idea click with a student. The lightbulb moment is absolutely inspiring, not just for students, but for everybody else involved as well. For younger students I like to start at the beginning; how to properly hold the instrument, how to tune the instrument, the layout of the fretboard (scales), a healthy repertoire of level appropriate music, etc. As students advance, however, I will introduce Theoretical concepts (Ear Training, Harmony, Modes, etc.) and a more detailed repertoire of music that the student is fervent about learning. I like to encourage my students to compose pieces, and write songs. Read More

As I picked up students through word-of-mouth referrals, friends, and fellow church members, I was able to take students through the rudiments of guitar, and in some cases produced some very advanced players. My teaching experience in Chelsea High School enabled me to take roughly 1800 students through basic guitar; again, some of these really caught fire and are pursuing guitar passionately through their bands. I do encourage regular practice for my students, as this is really where learning takes place, especially on a physical level. Read More

Again like i said before my style would have to be personalized, of course it is always good to take things gradually, if there's something that really made Berklee stand out from other colleges is that it has a really gradual approach to really complex subjects for example if you wanted to learn Jazz in other schools you would be required to know a lot about Jazz harmony beforehand in order to proceed with the classes but in Berklee you can really start from point 0 which is a method that schools around the world have been copying for decades. I have been teaching for over ten years to students of all ages. I first started at a local music store in Weymouth, MA when I was going to college. Since then I have taught at schools, other music stores, and privately. I love seeing my students develop and discover the same joy and excitement that music brings to me. Read More
