Playing drums is a very visceral, tactile excersize, and I often tell students, "That right there,that is how it's supposed to sound! Memorize that feeling and try to recreate it everytime." I love finding the soul of the song and pulling out the passion of the student so that they are engaged and intrigued by whatever we're doing at all times.
