My method is divided in two categories: Application and theory. For beginning students we work on basic motor skills for the instrument. Through simple exercises, utilizing patterns from diagrams, most students gain a proficiency at handling the instruments within weeks. During this time students are also introduced to the notes and common chords, learning their names, titles and relationships to each other on the fretboard. Once the instrument has become familiarized and the students are comfortable enough, then we'll begin introducing theory into practice. Read More

I find that my teaching style is focused on harboring curiosity of music for the beginner student. It brings me joy to see a student go above and beyond because they research more to what I offer them on the page to help enrich their playing. I ask students what they most would like to work on or accomplish and help them set realistic goals with skill building exercises to practice. Read More

My teaching style is relaxed but consistent. The goal for students is first to enjoy music, and then progress at their own pace. I am interested in knowing what student is looking to accomplish in music and introduce ways and exercises that will help him get where he wants to get. Music is free flowing and so should be methods of teaching. Practice is key to success in this discipline, and it takes commitment and patience to become one with your instrument. Read More

My love for music and performing is rivaled only by my drive to want to help people grow and feel good about themselves and their skills. I feel that it is very important for seasoned musicians to share what they've gained with those who want to learn and participate in that same world. Every person and every student is completely different from one another, yet we all have learned and can learn from others with different skill sets and experiences. Read More
