I am a native Greek professional musician, performer, composer, and arranger. I have received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Composition at Georgia State University with Dr. N. J. Demos and I also hold a Diploma in Composition and a Diploma in Byzantine Music (Eastern Orthodox Chant). I tailor a student's curriculum to their musical goals and needs, while making sure that I am instilling the fundamentals needed for pursuing music at the college scholarship level. Often this means scales, chords, arpeggios, music literacy, performance practice and listening skills. To accomplish this, I use standard materials that are often available online and are used by college and University music programs around the world. For both voice and guitar, I begin with evaluation of where the student is. I then discuss with the student to realize what their goals are, and why they want to progress in this field. I then assign daily exercises that the student can utilize to begin to build control and virtuosity with their instrument. My teaching methods are relatively universal. With younger students, I focus more on learning to have fun while learning about their instrument at the same time. The more fun they're having, the more likely they are to stick to it. For adults, I keep this same philosophy in tact, but incorporate more technique, theory, and performance practice into our sessions in order to facilitate the learning curve.
