My teaching style is fun and relaxed but still making sure that you are learning something new in every class, I was a beginner at some point and it brings me joy seeing how the students discover the guitar for the first time because it reminds me of myself when I was just learning. I help set realistic goals to keep the student motivated and guide the student to reach small achievements every week so they can see how fast they can progress with private classes. Read More

My lessons are fun and interactive! A light-hearted approach to learning an instrument is very important. Especially considering the difficulty a stringed instrument can bring; it's very easy to become discouraged when met with a difficult instrument, in a lousy-not-fun lesson, with a grumpy instructor. I work to keep the air light and flexible. By flexible, I mean to say that if at any point my student feels disgruntled, then we adjust. Read More

I use a combination of different methods rather than one method. The parts to my approach is; 1) Exposure, by listening to high information music. 2) Discovery, becoming familiar with the chosen instrument by means of discovering how to make music with it and what are the possibilities with said instrument. 2) Association, by learning songs and pieces that the student is already familiar with. 3) Analysis, breaking apart songs and sounds that the student is familiar with to understand the theory behind it. 4) Aplication, by using the knowledge aquiered through learning familiar with to learn new pieces of music. My approach to learning an instruments is to have the students learn to play by ear first before they can start learning to read music. I find that most students are able to progress quickly because it frees them to focus on the playing the instruments rather than reading notes. I consider reading music like different subject that they learn later. Learning music is like learning to speak. First we learn to talk and then we learn to read and write. Read More

Progress is not always easy when learning to play a new instrument. Everyone learns at there own pace, and with each lessons I will set attainable goals for the student. it is best when students have varying difficulties of material within their material in order to provide opportunity for satisfaction despite whatever struggles they may have. I encourage daily practice, even if only for small amounts of time. Effective practice requires some level of independence, and I focus a lot our time on the art of practicing, and how to focus your attention in order to get the best out of your practice time.
