Alongside being an artist, teaching has been a great part of my life.  In addition to my artistic career,  I have had the privilege of having a  dynamic educational career!  My first teaching job dates back to 13 years ago.  Since then, my career has branched out into many facets of the field, both as a classroom teacher and as a private instructor.  I have had the opportunities to work with students of all ages, both in the academic and musical settings.  My current educational stint is that of a special educator who works with children with Autism.  In either setting, it is my goal as a teacher to get the student excited about learning the basics and then building the skills, so that he/she may perform to his/her fullest potential.  Read More

The most rewarding thing in my life is seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I believe it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace no matter what. I set realistic goals for my students at each lesson as the next lesson will be intertwined with the last. It is encouraging when students gain praise for their accomplishments. A vast majority of them were Musical Theatre singers, but I utilized classical technique and scientific understanding to teach them how to fully utilize their voices and yield the most control and best sound possible out of their instruments. I also began teaching guitar, pop vocals, and even developed a unique approach to teaching songwriting utilizing basic music theory knowledge and common chord progression techniques to help young artists get the sounds in their head into a concrete song. My teaching experience starts 6 years ago when I started teaching marching band in Douglasville, Ga. I marched baritone with Spirit of Atlanta in 2013 and 2014. As time progressed, I started to teach music with local schools through Georgia State University and private connections as either a section coach or a private instructor. My private studio, with brass students, has been running for about two years now.
